Plastic Banana
It was written in the stones that one day a band would come. We are here in the form of Plastic Banana. Nick Vassar plays guitar, Russ Parks is on the bass, Corey Cutler keeps the beat with the drums and Tyler Sansom does vocals. We’ve been good friends since elementary school when we met in the T.A.G. program. We’re now going into the 10th grade at Cabell Midland High School. We formed Plastic Banana in the 8th grade and came up with the name after a friend ate a plastic banana we brought to school for our teacher. Our first performance was at the Barboursville Middle School talent show where we won first place playing Can’t Stop by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Since then we’ve participated in the Cabell Midland High School talent show, played at Border’s Book Store open mike night, and performed at several birthday and graduation parties in the tri-state area. You can check us out along with our schedule and contact information at myspace.com (code word plasticbanana420). We play a variety of music but mainly stick to classic and current rock with influences from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jet, Beatles, Black Crows, Blue Oyster Cult, The Doors, Steve Miller Band, Led Zeppelin and others. We’re starting to write some of our own music and hope to set up a recording session. Our only music rule is we don’t play Free Bird.
