Murrill Ralsten, Huntington City Councilman Murrill Ralsten, 38, operated Ralsten Ltd., a clothing store at 1531 4th Ave. in Huntington
Helen Ralsten, wife of Huntington City Councilman
Helen Ralsten, 32, was born in Weirton, W.Va., and was a former schoolteacher. She and her husband were survived by a son and a daughter.
Scottie Reese, team member
Played defensive end and linebacker. A 5-foot-11, 182-pound junior from Waco, Texas. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Reese.
Jack Repasy, team member
Jack Repasy was a sure-handed wide receiver from Cincinnati. A 6-foot, 172-pound junior. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Repasy.
Larry Sanders, team member
Was considered a pro prospect in the defensive secondary. A 6-foot-3, 193-pound junior from Tuscaloosa, Ala. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Sanders Jr.
Al Saylor, team member
A 5-foot-10, 200-pound sophomore defensive end from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Saylor.
Jim Schroer, head athletic trainer
Jim Schroer, 28 and a Cincinnati native, joined the Marshall staff in January 1970. He came from Toledo, where he had served as athletic trainer and physical education instructor since 1968. He received his bachelor’s degree from Cincinnati in 1964 and did his graduate work at Toledo in 1965-66.
Art Shannon, team member
A 5-foot-9, 200-pound junior linebacker from Greensboro, N.C. Shannon was a transfer from Ferrum Junior College. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.G. Shannon.
Ted Shoebridge, team member
Marshall’s starting quarterback known as “Shoe” was a 5-foot-10, 195-pound junior from Lyndhurst, N.J., He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.T. Shoebridge.
Allen Skeens, team member
Sophomore from Ravenswood, W.Va. One of the six players whose bodies couldn’t be positively identified, he is buried next to a monument in Spring Hill Cemetery. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Skeens.
Jerry Smith, first officer for Southern Airways
Jerry Smith began his career with Southern Airways on April 12, 1965. The 28-year-old Stone Mountain, Ga., resident had accumulated more than 5,800 hours of total flying time, including 1,196 hours in the DC-9. He was survived by his wife, Linda, and a son, Scott.
Jerry Stainback, team member
A junior college All-American linebacker who came to Marshall from Ferrum Junior College. A 5-foot-10, 199-pound senior from Newport News, Va. He was the husband of Mrs. Jerry Stainback Jr.
