Born in Louisville, Ky., Arnold, 42, was the general agent for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co.

Rachel Arnold, wife of insurance executive Charles “Red” Arnold
Rachel Arnold, 47, was born in Calhoun, Ky., and was a graduate of the Davis County Hospital School of Nursing in Owensboro, Ky. She served as a second lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. She and her husband were survived by four daughters.

Huntington East High School graduate. A 5-foot-11, 218-pound sophomore offensive lineman. Survivors included his mother, Ms. Jaunita Blake (deceased 1995); a half-sister, Deborah Sue Goheen; and a daughter, Michelle Frances Michael Blake White.

A 6-foot, 181-pound junior wide receiver from Bluefield, W.Va. His nickname was “The Menace.” He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Blevins.

Linebacker from Greenwood, S.C. A 5-foot-9, 190-pound junior. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Bluford Sr.

Donald Booth, game film
Donald Booth, 42, filmed Marshall football on a volunteer basis. He was an IBM data processor for H.K. Porter Co. for 13 years. He attended Marshall and was a member of the Big Green. He was a Marine Corps vet in World War II.

Deke Brackett, assistant coach
Deke Brackett served as the Marshall kicking coach and freshman coordinator. He was a quarterback at the University of Tennessee (1931-33).

Defensive lineman nicknamed “The Governor” from Atlanta, Ga. A 5-foot-9, 210-pound senior. Grandson of Mrs. Rosella Brown.

A 5-foot-10, 230-pound senior defensive lineman from Richmond, Va. One of several Marshall transfers from Ferrum Junior College. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard C. Brown.
