If you are sending a photo then, you can e-mail that photo to lwelch@heralddispatch.com Announcement Pictures When mailing in Photos please be sure to put your full name and mailing address on the back Photo tips When you are choosing which photo to use with your wedding, engagement or anniversary announcement in The Herald-Dispatch, be careful to pick a photo that will be appropriate for publication. Here are some guidelines to help you make your choice. 1. Make sure your photo is of professional quality. Snapshot photos often do not reproduce well in the newspaper. Do not print out scanned photos from your home computer. You could, however, bring in a disc or e-mail a digital photo. 2. Do not expect to get the entire bride’s gown into your photo. It is impossible to fit a full-length bridal gown with a train into a 2" by 2 1/2" or 4" by 5" photo. The details of the dress will not be visible, and the bride’s face will not be recognizable because it will appear so small. 3. Make sure the bride’s and groom’s faces are close together. If the bride is much shorter than the groom, you may not want to select a photo of the couple standing together. 4. When e-mailing photos to the newspaper, make sure they are of the proper format and quality. You may want to call ahead to make sure your photo will work. 5. Photos cannot be faxed to the newspaper. 6. Photos will appear in black and white, but the newspaper can accept color photos. 7. A close-up shot of the bride and groom together looks best. 8. Be sure to include all names, an address and a phone number on the back of each photo. The Herald-Dispatch will return all photos after their publication.
