The Herald-Dispatch provides basic wedding and engagement announcements at no charge, but allows expanded announcements and photographs for a fee.
Couples can select from a variety of packages ranging from $50 to $205 or more, based on the length of the article and the size of the photograph.
All announcements appear in the Sunday editions.
Here is how to publicize your personal celebrations:
Weddings: Free wedding announcements should meet general standards of timeliness and be published within two months after the wedding. Free announcements received after that time will be published as space allows. Paid wedding announcements will be placed on the Sunday requested. |

Engagements: Free engagement announcements should meet the general standards of timeliness and be published six weeks in advance of the wedding. Free announcements will be published as space allows. Paid engagement announcements will be placed on the Sunday requested.
Anniversaries: 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries and every 10th year thereafter will be published at no charge with up to 50 words and a photo. For other anniversaries, you may select a paid option.
Deadlines: All announcements are published on Sunday and must be received by 3 p.m. Tuesday, five days before publication.
Photographs: For good reproduction, photos should be of professional quality. An informative guideline sheet on the use of photos is available. |
