Congrats--again--to my guy Cris...

Congratulations to my guy Cris Collinsworth for winning two--yes, two--Sports Emmys Monday night.

Cris won for Outstanding Sports Analyst-Studio Analyst for his work on NBC and HBO and Outstanding Sports Personality-Sports Event Analyst for his work on the NFL Network.

Keith Olbermann would do well to remember that when he starts trying to take over "Football Night in America."

NBC Sports President Dick Ebersol should really take note as well...

I am not happy...

Those of you who are regular readers of this blog know that I’m a big fan of “Football Night In America,” NBC’s NFL pre-game show.

The foursome of Bob Costas, Cris Collinsworth, Jerome Bettis and Sterling Sharpe had the best chemistry of any show on TV—even with Sharpe yelling at us most of the time. And when it was announced that Tiki Barber was replacing Sharpe, I figured the show would be better than ever.

Unfortunately, I was wrong…

This week, NBC named Keith Olbermann co-host of “America.” This is, no doubt, one of the incentives that kept Olbermann as the host of “Countdown” on MSNBC.

But the problem is that “America” already had a co-host—Cris Collinsworth. And according to statements from NBC, he will remain in that role, which means there are a few too many cooks in the kitchen.

Is this how NBC is rewarding Cris for his Emmy nod?

And I can’t believe Bob Costas could be too thrilled about this development…

I know I’m not…

Congrats to my guy Cris...

Kudos to Cris Collinsworth for his two Sports Emmy nominations.

Collinsworth received a nomination for Sports Studio Analyst for his work on NBC’s “Football Night In America” and HBO’s “Inside the NFL” and a nomination for Sports Event Analyst for his work on the NFL Network’s game of the week.

Bob Costas received a nomination for studio host, but “Football Night In America” did not receive a nod.

Meanwhile, both James Brown and his soapbox, “The NFL Today” received nods, which I don’t quite understand…

The winners will be announced April 30th…
