John Rich Gets Real--Again

Is John Rich becoming the new king of reality TV?

Rich, who just completed his stint as the host/judge on CMT’s “Gone Country,” has signed on as a judge/mentor for “Nashville Star.” Rich will write and produce the winner’s debut single.

Apparently someone at NBC was watching Rich’s scathing critiques of the contestants on “Country” and realized what a good judge he would be. But the contestants better not have any pop aspirations or he will shoot them down immediately since he’ll “die for country music.”

Also, AEG Live and Warner Bros. Records will join forces to produce a tour after the show ends.

“Nashville Star,” hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus, will premiere June 9th at 9:30 p.m. on NBC…
