Pink bridge now white
After work yesterday, I stopped by Harris Riverfront Park, then I went up on the 6th Street bridge to get photos of a towboat coming downriver.
Then I headed home, and when I got to Ritter Park I saw the Marshall med students applying primer to the pink bridge. Or shall we say, the bridge formerly known as pink.
While I was snapping these shots, Tom Bell, director of administration and finance for the city, came by. He said the med students have tests this coming Saturday, so they'll be back a week from Saturday to paint the bridge.
He said the students raised the possibility of repainting the bridge as they noticed the poor condition of the pink paint while they did their regular running.
Bell said pink ribbons will be painted on each end of the bridge on each side as a reminder of breast cancer.
Here are some of the photos I took.
I particularly like the last one.
