One more pic before the weekend

I stood on the lower end of the lock wall at old Lock and Dam 27. Darkness would be falling soon, and the Delta Queen was a little ways upriver.

I looked up toward where the DQ would appear, and I saw this heron standing toward the opposite end of the concrete wall, which must be 1,000 feet long. I walked slowly, trying to not scare the bird. It watched me for a while. It walked away from me, but it didn't fly away until I got this picture.

I like it. Technically, it's not so good. But considering the conditions and the content, I like it anyway.
