Will we have access to Hillary?
This probably won't work, but . . .
I got a news release today saying Huntington native Talley Sergent has been appointed West Virginia state director of the Hillary Clinton campaign. Talley was an intern here many years ago. I remember a day when she needed a story to work on, and I suggested one about the new Blue Sulphur Road bridge near Ona.
Anyway, Talley used to write guest columns for me every now and then. Now that she is Clinton's WV director, we'll see if that gets us any access to the candidate.
If I could know a day or two in advance that I could interview Clinton, I would love to talk to her about energy policy and education policy and labor policy. The national folks could talk to her about the war and the economy and that stuff. I want to know about things that have more to do with living here in West Virginia and Appalachia in general.
So Talley, if you can get me that interview. . .
FWIW, I'm willing to talk to Obama, too, if he's interested in talking about these subjects.
But I'm not sitting by my phone waiting.
