School colors

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to let go.

That was what I thought when I saw this story about how some parents and others want the new Southwest Middle School in Huntington to have an eagle mascot and use the colors black and gold. Some parents wanted to revive the name Pony Express and the colors blue and red.

I won't go into the details. The story does that.

I don't have a dog in this fight. I'm in the Beverly Hills district.

But with a lot of things, including schools, the hardest thing is letting go.
