Thursday, December 28, 2006The Post About Ashes 2Hi my Internet friends! Just a quick note, if you're one of the winners of the Ashes to Glory DVDs and you haven't received your prize, please drop me a line at jmcelroy@herald-dispatch.com. Take care, Justin Wednesday, December 27, 2006The Post About True or FalseHello my Internet friends! A lot of people have been curious about how much of "We Are Marshall" is true and how much is invented. I thought I'd provide a little guidance. First off, check out my buddy Rachel Gensler story on just this topic HERE. Also, you can totally check this out on our Web site, it's great as a resource. Just FYI, Chris Griffen, Paul Griffen, Annie Cantrell and Tom Bogdan are all composite characters, which means that they weren't based on any specific person, but several unnamed people. Wednesday, December 20, 2006The Post About the Second Plane
![]() Hi my Internet friends! Whew! It's been a busy few days here at WAM Central. I went to the premiere on Dec. 12 and it was really an amazing night, the Keith-Albee has never looked better. I'd love to talk about my thoughts on the movie, but it's really not appropriate with me covering it and all. Maybe some day we can have that conversation at a later date. I'll tell you what I can talk about though: The mysterious second plane. Have you heard this? The rumor is that there was a second plane of other celebrities at the movie that were in hiding, and just there to support their Hollywood friends. I've heard that everyone from Bruce Willis and Oprah to Tom Cruise and George Clooney were in attendance. The theory is that this second plane of celebs landed, were spirited into the Fredrick Building under the veil of night, taken into the theater, then snuck out through a series of tunnels below the Albee. Or something like that. No one seems to have seen anyone famous, but many say their "friend" definately saw X. I've received confirmation from a kind lady handling PR for Warner Bros. locally. No one was there. I mean, McConaugheyMackieFoxMaraEscarpetaMcG was there. But no one else was. Or maybe that's exactly what they want us to believe. Tuesday, December 19, 2006The Post About UnscriptedHello my Internet friends, If you're like me, you're probably tired of seeing the stars of "We Are Marshall" answering the same questions ad nauseum. This is one of the better bits I've seen, with McConaughey and Fox asking questions of each other. Check it totally out: Unscripted Monday, December 18, 2006The Post About McConaughey On Damon (CBS News) OK, I know that you're probably tired of seeing Mr. McConaughey answering the same questions over and over, but at the end of this clip he watches the Damon impression and it's pretty funny. Sunday, December 17, 2006The Post About Katie Lee My oh my, it's a clip postin' Sunday FREAK OUT. Here's my friend (and Mountain Stater) Katie Lee Joel in Huntington at the premiere. The Post About Matt Damon Hey my Internet friends. No, Matt Damon is not starring in a "We Are Marshall" sequel as Chad Pennington. But he did do a hilarious imitation of McConaughey (I can spell that without even thinking about it now). Check it totally out. ![]() Hey, I'm sorry, I know it's been a while since I've posted. Forgive me? Great. 1. The Ashes to Glory contest is over and we got a lot of great entries. Look for a list of winners here on Monday. 2. We ran this in the paper, but I had to give you guys a heads up: "As part of Marshall's annual Jam the Cam women's basketball attendance push event, two "We Are Marshall" movie premiere tickets will be raffled off at this Saturday's Conference USA opener versus Houston. "Jam the Cam VI", with tickets costing just $1, will tip-off at 2 p.m. at the Cam Henderson Center. Two lucky winners will receive tickets to the Dec. 12 premiere of "We Are Marshall," the major motion picture from Warner Bros. that will be released nationwide on Dec. 22. The tickets are good for two passes to the sold out premiere at the Keith Albee Theatre, admittance into the pre-film reception at the Don Morris Room, as well as the post film gala at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena." 3. Watch Oprah on Dec. 6, I believe you'll find it McConaugheyerrific. |
