Spending time in Atlanta/A fond farewell
Hey guys,
Sorry I've been away from posting updates for so long. Have stayed busy with other projects, and when production moved to Atlanta, the film fell off my radar a bit. Had the opportunity to go to Atlanta over the weekend, however, for the big tailgate event near the Georgia Dome and for filming at Herndon Stadium.
It was wonderful to meet so many of you guys who live away from the Huntington area. Also, I really enjoyed getting to meet Jack Lengyel and Reggie Oliver for the first time. Both guys are class acts, and I loved hearing Marco the bison story from Jack. Both of us wish we could have seen Matthew McConaughey "wrestling" the bison in the re-creation of the scene where Marco escapes from his pen.
On a bit of a sad note, I am leaving The Herald-Dispatch soon for another career opportunity. I will miss sharing my experiences with you all and hearing all of your stories. Also, I will miss all of my contacts at Marshall University and Warner Bros. Pictures. Thank you, Keith Spears and Dave Wellman for all of your help and kindness. Likewise, many thanks to Ernie Malik (the movie's unit publicist), as well as to McG, Mary Viola, Basil Iwanyk and Brent O'Connor. It was an honor and a privilege to meet each of you and to share in the excitement of telling such a compelling and emotional story to the world.
Despite my leaving, I am certain this blog will continue in some shape and form, so please keep your comments coming. Best wishes to everyone ... Eric
