Former Wayne pitcher Adkins gets win for Reds

Okay, okay. I know it is in the heart of football season and no one really is following baseball -- especially the Cincinnati Reds -- at this point in the season.

But it really was great to see former Wayne pitcher Jon Adkins take the field at Miller Park in extra innings on Tuesday night and get the win over the Brewers.

Ironically, he beat Seth McClung of Milwaukee, a former pitcher for Greenbrier East who gave up the game-winning hit to Brandon Phillips in the 11th.
