Metallica's New Album "Sounds Better" in Guitar Hero

So I won't throw a lot of jargon at you about what sort of files they use in each format, but long story short, Metallica fans were quite upset when they heard the final master track for their latest album, Death Magnetic. Why? Because the album's sound was clipped and the range of it isn't dynamic. In other words, the sound on the CD is heavily distorted.

On his blog, engineer Ian Shepard compares a file from the CD to the songs as they will be presented in Guitar Hero: World Tour. Apparently, the files on Guitar Hero sound much more dynamic and less distorted than they do on CD.

Now if you could just stop trying to play those songs on expert and failing, then the songs would sound great. Oh wait, you're singing too? Nevermind. Just buy the CD.
