"What is there about this area you would like to share with others?" That is the question neighborhood advocate, James "Jay" Bowen answered at the "Why Huntington WV?" Website. Check it out: I'm going to the site and telling why I returned to Huntington. I could have lived anywhere I wished, but I chose Huntington as my adopted hometown.

C. Richard Cobb Sr. C. Richard Cobb Sr. is an advocate for Huntington (WV) and Cabell County (WV) neighborhoods. In 1992, Cobb retired after 20 years as the CEO of convention centers, sports arenas and exhibition facilities. His management career began at the Charleston (WV) Civic Center in 1970. Later, he had stints at The Spectrum in Philadelphia (PA), the Indiana Convention and Trade Center in Indianapolis, the Augusta (GA) Coliseum, Bass Park Complex in Bangor (ME), the Huntington (WV) Civic Center, the Ironworks Convention and Trade Center in Columbus (GA) and the Gatlinburg Convention Center (TN). Richard founded a litter abatement group called Adopt YOUR Block – Be a Litter-Gitter in Huntington (WV) in 2006. It now has over 2,000 neighborhood volunteers who are committed to keeping the block on which they live free of litter.
