Thursday, February 05, 2009Consolidation of Enslow and Beverly Hills Middle SchoolsHere is a simple solution to this school consolidation issue: Temporarily relocate the students at Enslow to the Beverly Hills school. Tear down Enslow and construct the new consolidated school on the Enslow site. What are your opinions on the location of the new school?

C. Richard Cobb Sr. C. Richard Cobb Sr. is an advocate for Huntington (WV) and Cabell County (WV) neighborhoods. In 1992, Cobb retired after 20 years as the CEO of convention centers, sports arenas and exhibition facilities. His management career began at the Charleston (WV) Civic Center in 1970. Later, he had stints at The Spectrum in Philadelphia (PA), the Indiana Convention and Trade Center in Indianapolis, the Augusta (GA) Coliseum, Bass Park Complex in Bangor (ME), the Huntington (WV) Civic Center, the Ironworks Convention and Trade Center in Columbus (GA) and the Gatlinburg Convention Center (TN). Richard founded a litter abatement group called Adopt YOUR Block – Be a Litter-Gitter in Huntington (WV) in 2006. It now has over 2,000 neighborhood volunteers who are committed to keeping the block on which they live free of litter.
