Opps! Got so busy with Create Huntington that I forgot to post here! Sorry!

One of our participants here on this blog, reminded me today that I haven't posted for a while. I do apologize. They were right though - I've been so involved with the Create Huntington organization that I forgot about my responsibility on this blog!

I just returned from the Create West Virginia Conference at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. The 395 attendees represented companies and citizens from all walks of life. Representatives from our own Create Huntington organization were there, along with folks from Marshall University, West Virginia University, West Virginia State University and other state institutions of high education. The conference was all about "creating" a West Virginia of the future that will be responsive to the needs of every citizen of our state.

I encourage you to get involved here in Huntington. Go to http://www.createhuntington.com/ to learn how you can be a part of creating our city's future. Take the on-line survey to add your input, ideas and creative thoughts about our town's future.

Together we will accomplish anything we can imagine!

We've started without you!

Huntington is already changing. While not ignoring the obstacles to change, Create Huntington and the City of Huntington have begun the strategic plan by commencing the design of downtown walkable streets - with new stores and gathering places, compact and connected business districts and more varied and affordable housing. Change will come slowly, but creating a "sense of place" is an exciting exercise and one in which every citizen can participate.

If you want to be a part of creating the Huntington of the future, check out http://www.create/Huntington.com on the web. You better hurry though; we have started without you.
