LIFE
Time is the psychological enemy of man - Isn't it strange how when we love something we want it to last forever! Like BLENKO GLASS in Milton, WVa. when something is wonderful we often just assume it'll be around forever. But ACTIONS speak louder than words! INACTION can lead to destruction, failure in our lives.
A great example was recently noted in the newspaper. FENTON GLASS announced it was closing within the month - then all the folks who had been meaning to purchase, and who love Fenton called to place orders - and well FENTON has order that will keep them running until after November, and who knows about the future! This happen because people took action! They placed orders, they took action to support a company, a product they valued. Its the same in all of life - personal or business - we need to support and value what we care for. The support has to be voiced.
This was a bittersweet weekend, I am visiting Charleston for my Pops 87th Birthday - we learn he has an illness and was recently offered hospice. Later 8 friends and I met at Southern Kitchen to play board games and eat - to find the restaurant full of people - it seems Ms. Delsie passed last month and Southern Kitchen is closing on Oct 15th. This night would be the last visit for my friends and I. The end to a decade of late night dessert and board games in the corner booth - after theater or movies.
Take some time today to think about the things you love, and make certain you let the people you care about know your feelings, SHOP at the LOCAL MARKET, support the LOCAL BAKER and BUY Made in WVa and MADE IN THE USA, and think about time not as the psychological enemy but as the friend who allows us the ability to grow and develop into what we might be.
