Marshall University football’s strong recruiting push continued Tuesday with the verbal commitments of offensive lineman C.J. Wood and linebacker Corey Hart. Wood is rated as the nation’s No. 51 offensive tackle prospect by www.scout.com. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound lineman from Gainesville High School (Ga.) has been offered by Auburn, Georgia and East Carolina. Hart, a 6-2, 205-pound outside linebacker from Loachapoke H.S. (Ala.), also has drawn interest from numerous BCS programs, including Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi. He joins high school teammate Franchez Pitts in Marshall’s prospective recruiting class of 2007. Marshall now has 15 commitments toward this year’s recruiting class. Joining Hart and Wood in the prospective recruiting Class of 2007 are quarterbacks Chris Smith (South Point H.S) and Mark Cann (Landrum H.S., S.C.), offensive linemen Micah Carter (Beckley H.S.), John Bruhin (Powell H.S., Tenn.) and Sergio Glenn (North Forsyth H.S., N.C.), defensive tackles Shane Moore (Northeast Guilford H.S., N.C.), and Johnny Jones (Clewiston H.S., Fla.), running backs Terrell Edwards (UMS-Wright Prep School, Ala.) and Darius Marshall (Baldwin H.S., Ga.), linebacker Kellen Harris (Sharon H.S., Pa.), defensive end Vinny Curry (Harmony Prep, Ohio) and strong safety Franchez Pitts (Loachapoka H.S., Ala.). Junior college defensive tackle Montel Glasco signed with the Herd in December. Herd fans, what are your thoughts on the recruiting class thus far?
